Statement of intent · Q4 2025

A business built to give more than it takes.

Science-based targets for net-zero, global reporting standards, and a circular product built to reduce, not offset. Here's our plan, in the open.

Our plan
How we're built

Our footprint lives across the network, so that's where we measure it.

We acknowledge our true impact extends beyond our own walls, upstream and downstream. Our model is designed to keep that impact low by default.

Keep scrolling, the network tells the story
01 · The network

A collaborative network

We operate as a network of partners, systems and suppliers, far lower direct consumption than a production-led company.

1,100partners, systems & suppliers, one shared footprint
02 · Print on demand

Printed on demand

Every book is made to order. No centralised inventory, no overproduction, no warehouse of unsold stock.

12,418unsold books sitting in our warehouse
03 · Distributed printing

Distributed printing

Production is sourced dynamically after purchase from a global network, printed close to the reader where possible. The order travels as data, not freight: it goes digitally to the nearest local printer, and only the last mile travels by road.

5,400 kmof shipping replaced by a short last-mile
Faster for you printed nearby, not shipped for weeks Better for the planet no long-haul freight for your book Backs local economies every order supports a nearby printer
04 · Supplier checks

Rigorous supplier checks

A formal supplier assessment process gives transparency and accountability across our whole network's footprint.

Our position

No offsets. Real reductions.

We won't buy our way to "carbon neutral". Instead we report Scope 4 emissions avoidance, invest directly in verified carbon capture and sequestration with third-party audits, and engineer circularity to reuse waste. The goal: cut emissions to a minimum, for real.
